Sandip Burman, a native of Durgapur, India, is an accomplished Indian Classical musician. His love and dedication of tabla began at age 6 when he began learning from Shri Sudhir Roy and later he became a student of the late distinguished tabla master, Pandit Shyamal Bose of Calcutta. Sandip-ji is the first generation of musicians in his family and without the backing of a reputed musical heritage, it is an unyielding dedication and enthusiasm that has driven him to continually challenge himself as a student and to grow musically beyond tabla playing and into four different instruments: tabla, tabla tarang, sitar and voice also. His international tours include five to seven countries each year. Some of his accomplishments include solo performances at the Kennedy Center, First Night Providence, Ravinia Festival, Percussive Arts Society Conference (PASIC) and Nashville Symphony.
John Gardner is a versatile harmonica player from San Antonio, TX. In 2005 he relocated to Chicago where he became immersed in the city's electric Blues tradition as a student of the esteemed bluesman Matteo Steinmetz and soon-after began studying Indian Ghandarva Ved music with Pandit Sandip Burman. John's most recent performances include the SummerDays Festival in Ft. Benton, MN; the Quick Center for the Arts in Fairfield, CT & Yishun Town Collegiate in Singapore.
